Emil's Petition for Naturalization dated June 6, 1917 was denied because an out-of-date form was used. His June 23, 1923 petition was accepted. The denied petition says that Emil Klawitter was a farmer in Buffalo Twp. [Marquette Co.] WI, born April 26, 1987 in Friedland, Germany. His wife's name was Bertha who was born Dec. 11, 1882. Information about his children is posted on his web site under each child's section. The form says Emil arrived in New York on/about June 1, 1888 on the vessel "Kaiser Wilhelm." C.R. Roskie (of Montello - Register of Deeds) and Herman Schmitz (Country Treasurer) signed that they knew Emil lived in the United States at least since June 1, 1908. W.A. Cole (Clerk) witnessed the signatures. |
