William married Sarah Locke on Dec. 25, 1733 in Woburn, Massachusetts. Sarah was born in Woburn on July 5, 1707. She was the "4th child and 3rd daughter of James and Sarah (Cutter) Locke and graddaughter of Deacon William and Mary (Clark) Locke, who came from England in 1634 in the ship "Plantar" and settled in Woburn." Cunningham wrote: "She [Sarah] was admitted to the church in Lunenberg [as spelled] Oct. 25, 1741 from the first church in Woburn. She was very much of a lady and very brave and on one occasion she saved the life of a squaw who was pursued in a fit of passion by an Indian, by throwing open the door of the house and letting her in, and then closing it at the instant he threw his tomahawk which stuck in the door, and the scar of which was to be seen for a great many years."
The LDS/Mormon Church database online says that Sarah Locke was born July 5, 1707 in Woburn, Middlesex Co., MA; married William Jones (son of Josiah Jones and Abigail Barnes) on Dec. 25, 1733; and died Oct. 20, 1788. [SOURCE: www.familysearch.org]

Abigail Jones was born Apr. 18, 1740 and baptized June 1, 1740. She married John Forsyth Jr. (of Bolton) on May 28, 1761. They lived in Westminster and had four children. [SOURCE: George A. Cunningham who did research in the 1800's on the Jones family.]

Hannah Jones
b. July 4 or 14, 1742
d. Dec. 8, 1831
Hannah Jones was born July 14, 1742 and baptized July 18, 1742. She married Benjamin Barret of Ashby (his second wife) on Feb. 18, 1786. She died Dec. 8, 1831 at the age of 89 (in Ashby). They had no children. She was a twin to Enos.[SOURCE: George A. Cunningham who did research in the 1800's on the Jones family.]

George A. Cunningham (who did research in the 1800's on the Jones family) said Josiah was supposedly born Oct. 23, 1744, but "this must be an error as he was baptized Oct. 7, 1744." Josiah was admitted to full communion with the church in Lunenberg [as spelled in the copy of Cunningham's research] June 1, 1776.

Silence Jones
b. Aug. 18, 1753
George A. Cunningham (who did research in the 1800's on the Jones family) wrote: "Silence, born Aug. 18, baptized Sept. 2, 1753. She married Apr. 3, 1775, Thaddeus Smith born on Sept. 25, 1753 in Lexington, son of Ebenezer and Abigail (Wellington) Smith. They lived in Ashby some years and afterward moved to Troy, N.H. He was a soldier of the Revolution. I have learned no other particulars of their family."

His home became as fort during Indian Wars
William Jones built a house on what is still called "Jones Hill" in Lunenberg [as spelled in the copy of Cunningham's document] which is now owned by his descendant, Ephraim Jones. William Jones was a King's Surveyor and went to Nova Scotia to lay out some new townships, and on his return the vessel, in which he was a passenger was shipwrecked and he was drowned, Jan. 26, 1761 aged 54 years and 12 days."
