Obituary of Clara Warnke Schauer

Mrs. Carl Schauer, nee Warnke, was born Feb. 13, 1880, in the town of Princeton, Green Lake Co., Wis. Her childhood days were spent in Germania, Wis. On the 11 day of August, 1898 she entered into the Holy Estate of Matrimony with Mr. Carl Schauer. This union was blessed with eight children, five sons and three daughters. Three sons and one daughter were still born. One son has preceded his mother into eternity in his infancy.

In the year 1899 she moved to Budsin, Wis. with her husband, residing there for twelve years. In the year 1911 they made Westfield their dwelling place.

About three weeks before Christmas her health was impaired by heart trouble, causing much distress. At times it appeared as though her health was improving, nevertheless, her days were numbered. It was the Lord's will to relieve her from her bodily ailments and take her from this vale of tears unto Himself in heaven. Her end came peacefully on Monday, March 29th, when she fell asleep in Jesus blood and righteousness at about eleven o'clock A.M. attaining the age of 46 years, 1 month and 16 days. With her sudden death she leaves to mourn her grief-stricken husband , one son Carl, two daughters Eleanor Alice, Gertrude Laura; her aged step-mother; three brothers and three sisters. One brother, Julius A. Warnke residing at Westfield, Wis.; John Warnke residing at Milwaukee, Wis.; and Henry Warnke, Germania, Wis.

Funeral services were held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon with Rev. E. F. Messerschmidt officiating.

The mortal remains of the departed were laid to rest in the East Side Cemetery. [Transcription provided by Nancy Arendsee Schaeffer -- From the Central Union, Westfield, Wisconsin, 8 April 1926]
